our mission

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high school and colleges around the globe.

DECA enhances the co-curricular education of members through a comprehensive learning program that integrates into classroom instruction, applies learning, connects to business and promotes competition through industry-validated competitive events aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism.

DECA is organized into two unique student divisions each with programs designed to address the learning styles, interest and focus of its members. The High School Division includes over 200,000 members in 3,500 schools.

Our Story

Over 70 Years of Empowering Students

Kansas was one of the original charter states when the Distributive Education Clubs of America was organized.

The Kansas Charter was issued on March 24, 1948,

by Ray Ellison, National DECA President

and Ralph Rush, DECA Inc. chair.
